On 22 February 2017 (Wednesday), in the City Hall Center in Skopje, the Business Council of University American College Skopje held the Seventh General Assembly Meeting for its company members, supporters and collaborators.<\/p>\n

The event was attended on part of the members of UACS Business Council, the donors of UACS Foundation, and the honorary guests: the Governor of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Dimitar Bogov, the Head of the Business Economics Department and professor at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy, Prof. Luca Gnan, the Director of the Interuniversity Centre for Studies on Family Business at the University of Eastern Piedmont, Italy, Prof. Lucrezia Songini.<\/p>\n

The opening remarks at the 7th<\/sup> General Assembly Meeting were given by Mr. Antoni Peshev, President of the UACS Business Council and the Chairman of the Assembly of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia. He presented the report on the UACS Business Council for the Academic Year 2015\/2016 and the results of the activities of the company members of the Business Council. Furthermore, he informed the audience on the new study programs at the University, the achievements of the faculty and students, the internship evaluation and the employability of UACS students upon their graduation at UACS.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s General Assembly Meeting of UACS Business Council had the honor to have as an honorary guest, Prof. Luca Gnan, professor in Organizational Behavior, Head of the Business Economics Department at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, and Immediate Past President of the European Academy of Management (EURAM). In his official address, he put an emphasis on the importance of networking between universities and the business community, for the purpose of acquiring new knowledge, apart from the theory, which students learn from the textbooks. Prof. Gnan stated that by conducting research in a certain topic, the students have the possibility to seek out new knowledge, which can be implemented in the business community. Thereinafter, the companies will have the possibility provide their input in the process of creating new study programs at the universities in accordance with the skills which are in demand in the labor market.<\/p>\n

UACS Rector, Prof. Marjan Bojadjiev, PhD, honored Awards of Appreciation to Finance Think<\/em> (in recognition of their continuous support and raising awareness of the importance of research and contribution for the development of economic thought) and to the Embassy of the United States of America to the Republic of Macedonia<\/em> (in recognition of their continuous support to UACS and its endeavors of bringing quality education to each individual and creating a better society).<\/p>\n

Moreover, he honored the Governor of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Dimitar Bogov, <\/em>with an Award of Appreciation in recognition of his personal involvement, the continuous support of the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia in the scholastic activities at UACS and their effect in improvement of the quality of higher education.<\/p>\n
