{"id":21010,"date":"2022-11-18T08:02:21","date_gmt":"2022-11-18T08:02:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uacs.edu.mk\/home\/?p=21010"},"modified":"2022-11-18T08:02:21","modified_gmt":"2022-11-18T08:02:21","slug":"katarzyna-demian-from-the-carpathian-state-college-poland-guest-lecturer-at-uacs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/payment.uacs.edu.mk\/home\/katarzyna-demian-from-the-carpathian-state-college-poland-guest-lecturer-at-uacs\/","title":{"rendered":"Katarzyna Demian from the Carpathian State College, Poland &#8211; Guest lecturer at UACS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 18 November, UACS School of Foreign Languages hosted a\u00a0<b>guest lecture<\/b>\u00a0of our Erasmus + visiting lecturer\u00a0<b>Katarzyna Demian from the Carpathian State College in Krosno (Poland).\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><b>She discussed the &#8220;Challenges of Translating Dialect in Fantasy: the \u201cScottish\u201d inhabitants of Terry Pratchett\u2019s Discworld&#8221; with the students and gave thoughtful insights in the art of translation.\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><b>Katarzyna Dziemian,<\/b>\u00a0MA\u00a0 teaches translation, English Literature, and Global Understanding at Carpathian State College in Krosno, where she is also the Global Understanding Coordinator.
