His expertise lies in experimentation, foresight and new forms of policymaking. A former civil servant in Brazil, Joao has several years of experience advising senior public officials and managing cross-government teams in projects combining a wide range of innovative methodologies to deliver better public services. Immediately prior to joining Demos, he coordinated the Brazilian government&#8217;s pioneer innovation lab, GNova, where he helped transform a newly founded innovation lab into a Global Public Service Team of the Year, as acknowledged by Apolitical&#8217;s Global Public Service Awards.
