It is with immense sadness and disbelief to receive the information that today,\u00a025 November 2020, our Dean of SCSIT, prof. Veno Pacovski PhD, has passed away. He was one of the most esteemed professors in the country, an excellent educator and one of the favorite teachers among our students. He will be dearly missed.<\/p>\n
Born in 1965 in Skopje, prof. Pacovski has been successfully building his professional career in the fields of mathematics and information technology. His work began in 1989, when he started teaching Mathematics, Calculus, Spherical trigonometry, Databases, Programming and Computer applications at the Faculty for Civil engineering. In 2007 he received his PhD at the Faculty of Natural sciences at \u201cSs. Cyril and Methodius\u201d University in Skopje, and in 2009, he transferred to UACS, where he taught a variety of courses in the fields of mathematics, database and information systems. In 2018, he became Dean of the School for Computer Science and Information Technology at UACS.<\/p>\n
His research interests were wide, ranging from natural language processing, through theory of computation and encryption, and all the way to social networks and social media, e-democracy and e-government. His contribution to science, theory and innovation, as well as his dedication to education, have been admirable. Plenty of generations of students have had the privilege of attending his classes and learning from his knowledge, skills and insight. He has left a mark on so many lives and he has been an inspiration to us all.<\/p>\n
The untimely passing of prof. Pacovski has left a big impact on our University and it is a loss for all of us. We are deeply grateful and honored to have been a part of his career and part of his life.<\/p>\n
