On 11 April 2018, the UACS School of Foreign Languages students taking the course Preparation for Translation and Interpreting, together with their course instructor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marjana Vaneva, visited the premises of the agency for translation, interpreting and publishing \u201cAd Verbum\u201d.<\/p>\n

A senior member of staff, an experienced translator and interpreter, now reviewer of the younger translators\u2019 work addressed the students, telling them what the translation and interpreting profession really is like, what challenges but also satisfaction they may have while doing it, and shared her own personal experience regarding \u2018the path she had walked\u2019 while developing herself professionally and upgrading her skills.<\/p>\n

The students also met with a team of translators and had a chance to feel the translators\u2019 working atmosphere. They were practically acquainted with the translation programs used in the translator\u2019s professional life, and tried using these themselves.<\/p>\n

It is very much hoped that the visit will contribute to the students\u2019 knowledge about this profession and will connect well with the material learnt in class.<\/p>\n
